KONGSBERG Training Programme in Project Management includes 7 classroom and e-learning modules on different levels designed to meet the various needs in the organisation.
Each module is an independent unit and this gives you full freedom to manage the extent, pace, and progress of the training based on your own requirements. A part of the programme is based on e-learning which provides you with the opportunity to study at your own pace. It´s an enjoyable learning method where you get interactive tests and exercises to. Study when and where you want to.
Metier has entered into a collaboration with Gokstad Academy. Gokstad Academy is a NOKUT-accredited Norwegian vocational school offering higher professional education in project management.
You can achieve up to 30 academic credits from Gokstad Academy if you complete the entire training program.
We recommend you to complete the course Essential Project Management before enrolling to the Applied Project Management.

Applied Project Management
This course module gives participants a broad practical knowledge about how to professionally manage a project throughout its life cycle. The module is based on international best practice shown through appropriate examples.
Professional project management means taking an active role in finding the most optimal way to deliver the project objectives and coordinate all tasks so that these are implemented effectively. It includes continuously monitoring the project and its environment, so that corrective actions can be taken before uncertainties, deviations and changes lead to significant and negative consequences for the project.

Leadership and Communication

One of the main reasons why far too many projects get behind schedule is that contracts are managed poorly. Project Risk Management
Managing project uncertainty, which includes risks and opportunities, is about understanding a project and its surroundings in order to make the right decisions. This requires a decision-making basis reflecting the uncertainty impacting the project. Managing project uncertainty is a continuous activity that should be on-going throughout the entire project period to identify and address actions aimed at the uncertainty drivers.
In this course, participants will learn more about how to identify the uncertainty elements. They will be more conscious in their development of actions realizing opportunities and reducing risks in their projects. Risk elements in Kongsberg are emphasized.

Project Planning and Control
Delivering a project is a balancing act. Project owners want to limit the cost and the amount of time used, at the same time as they want the best possible quality and maximum scope. Leading a project safely in to port with the right balance of the aforementioned, requires active control and monitoring of progress and results. The portal will have a login area for identified candidates who have been supplied with a username and password. Once logged in to myMetier, you will be presented with your own learning area with a full list of courses that are available to you through the training. Announcements pertinent to the training will also appear here, e.g scheduled classroom sessions, inclusion of additional learning materials or online forum collaborations.

E-learning
The training program consists of several well proven e-learning courses consisting of more than 100 lessons all together. The courses are built on a common structure involving learning objectives, eye-openers, theory, examples, pitfalls, checklist, cases and quizzes.
All e-learning courses include a final test to measure the knowledge level upon course completion. The e-learning courses are based on the “problem-solving” didactic approach which means that learning is triggered through practical cases and quizzes pinpointed at specific learning objectives.
